So I figured it was time for new guitar strings… so I went back to Canyon Music and bought some Elixir guitar strings. The best part was that Ian put them on my guitar right on the spot… and he even spent the time to show me how to string my guitar.

The result… the guitar sounds GREAT with those Elixir strings. I had been playing my guitar for about three or four weeks, about an hour a day so I sort of figured it might be time for new strings. And since I didn’t know how long those original strings were on the guitar before I bought it… well the string change might have been long overdue.

In any case, I am really happy with the new strings. I guess the Elixir guitar strings are pretty different from everything else on the market. Ian tells me they will last three or four times as long as any other strings. He told me that they would probably last me three months.

There is a price to be paid… the Elixir strings cost me $14.00… which I guess is about twice as much as other strings cost. But if they last three times as long, the math still works.
