Number one question… guitar lessons
And now… guitar lessons - the top question on everyones mind. Do you know how after Christmas everyone asks what you got for Christmas? Well, I tell them - I got an acoustic guitar… and I couldn’t be happier.
After they hear about my guitar, the next question they ask is whether I am going to take guitar lessons. Or the other question is “who are you going to take lessons from?".
So what’s my answer? I have absolutely no idea! After all, I just got the guitar!!
I suppose I should take some lessons… but right now I am really not in a rush to find a guitar teacher. And when I look at the progress of some people I know who ARE taking guitar lessons, I am not all that enthused about going and shelling out the money and spending the time to get lessons.
The way I see it, in my current uneducated state, is that the quality of the lesson will mostly depend on the quality of the teacher. So that means I need to find a good teacher. I am sure there are great ones, but I am also sure there are lousy ones as well. After all, I had a really lousy spanish teacher in high school.
I know I can find good books, good web sites, and great home study programs - I am sure there are bad examples of all of those as well, but I have a feeling it will be easier to sort out the bad from the good with these.
